Complex restoration of a very early Jaques set
This was a recent very complex restoration of an early Jaques set that was severely damaged. The first group of pictures show the set before restoration. You can see severe base cracks, caused by weights that have oxidized and created the cracks. The set had multiple coats of unknown varnishes. many losses and very dirty and misshapen original pads that still had some lozenges attached.
